Microsoft wants to improve Bing outside the US
Microsoft wants to improve the quality of its search engine Bing outside the United States, according to a vacancy for a business development manager. It’s the “most ambitious geographic expansion” in Bing history.
At the moment, Bing is of limited use outside the United States: search results are less good and things like Image Match and the extensive autocomplete are missing. That may change, according to the vacancy, which was noticed by WinBeta.
Bing will be expanded to 75 countries, according to the vacancy, where it should become a ‘quality product’. Specifically, the emea region is referred to, which refers to Europe, the Middle East and Africa. It is not clear, however, which countries are involved. Bing should be improved under Windows 8, Windows Phone and Xbox, among other things, Microsoft writes. It is unknown when the improvements should be visible.
