Microsoft to release new Forza Motorsport game in Spring 2023
Microsoft has announced a new Forza Motorsport game. It is the eighth game in the series, but it does not get a number and is therefore simply called Forza Motorsport. The game will be released in the spring of 2023.
Publisher Microsoft and developer Turn 10 presented the game at the showcase of Xbox and Bethesda on Sunday. The presenters elaborate on the new time of day system, which applies to every race track and will influence the temperature of the tarmac and thus the handling of the car.
Microsoft also talks about graphical improvements to the game, which should be a demonstration of what the Xbox Series X can do. Real-time ray tracing is incorporated into the game, something the previous sister title Forza Horizon 5 only had to a very limited extent. Furthermore, the so-called damage models have also become more detailed and dirt on the car will also be displayed with more detail.
On the gameplay side, Microsoft promises that there is more to tinker with the cars. As examples they cite more options when it comes to tire and fuel selection, tire materials and ‘deeper car construction’.
The game will be released in the spring of 2023 for ‘Xbox consoles’, which presumably refers to the current and previous generations, and Windows. It will be coming to Steam on Windows and the game will also be part of the Xbox and PC Game Pass.
