Microsoft has revamped the Surface Laptop Go. The second version gets an Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor, where its predecessor has a tenth generation i5. In addition, Microsoft says that the Go 2 is quieter and has an ‘improved webcam’.

The Surface Laptop Go 2 has always that eleventh generation i5-1135G7 processor, next to an Iris Xe GPU. Its predecessor had an i5-1035G1. The memory of the Surface Laptop Go 2 is 4 or 8GB Lpddr4x and the SSD has a size of 128 or 256GB. The 64GB option of its predecessor therefore expires with the Go 2. Microsoft also says that more parts of the laptop can be replaced, such as the keyboard, trackpad, screen and battery. It is not clear whether Microsoft itself will also sell those parts to customers or whether only authorized repairers can replace them. The laptop should last 13.5 hours on the 41Wh battery, half an hour longer than the predecessor, and will be given a new, green-grey color.

Other specifications have remained the same. For example, the laptop still has a 12.4″ screen with a resolution of 1536×1024 pixels and an aspect ratio of 3:2. The maximum brightness is 330cd/m². The laptop has two USB connections, one of which is Type-C. , a 3.5mm jack and a Surface charging port.Furthermore, all models except the cheapest model have a fingerprint scanner under the power button.
