Microsoft shows teaser for Minecraft mobile ar game

Microsoft has posted a short video online of a Minecraft mobile game that uses augmented reality. On May 17, Microsoft will announce more details about the game.

Microsoft showed the video to conclude the keynote from Satya Nadella, the company’s CEO, at the Build 2019 developer conference. Under the title What’s Minecraft up to? The video is now also on YouTube.

The video shows an augmented reality view of Minecraft. In addition to the typical pixelated Minecraft figures, superimposed over the image of a smartphone camera, a simple interface for the game can be seen.

At the end of the video, Microsoft promises to reveal more about Minecraft’s ar game on May 17. Microsoft already showed a MineCraft version for the HoloLens in 2015, but in this case it is an ar game for smartphones.
