Microsoft seems to want to sell Surface hardware from Microsoft Store
The Microsoft Store contains a hidden section where Microsoft offers its Surface products. The store thus seems to get a new hardware category, in addition to parts for apps, games, music, movies and e-books.
The presence of the hidden offer ‘Shop Surface’ became discovered by Twitter user WalkingCat, who is more likely to make discoveries in the code of Microsoft services. The section can be called up by entering the code ms-windows-store://navigatetopage/?PageName=ShopSurface in a command prompt on Windows 10.
In the shop you will find not only the Surface Pro and Surface Studio, but also accessories for Surface products such as the Surface Mouse and the Dial. If you search for Surface outside the section, you will get a reference to MicrosoftStore.com, the place where Microsoft has been trying to sell its Surface products until now.
Neowin links the possible arrival of the Surface store to the store’s recent name change from “Windows Store” to “Microsoft Store”. Since then, the icon of the store also emphatically shows the Microsoft logo.
