Microsoft seems to have solved the activation problems with Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise. Many users report that their version of Windows has been reactivated after being briefly deactivated.

On the Windows forum of Microsoft, among others, users report that they have been able to reactivate their Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise. They had to use the Activation Troubleshooter within Windows 10, which requires administrator rights.

Microsoft has not given any details about the fix that the software company has implemented. It did, however, already know on Thursday that a solution would be found within 24 hours. Users in several countries reported on Wednesday and Thursday that they were experiencing edition downgrades of Windows 10 Pro and Education and that they had been deactivated. The problem was with an activation server, Microsoft announced.

According to Microsoft, it concerned a ‘small number’ of users and those affected could simply use their system. If Windows 10 is not activated, this will be indicated by a watermark at the bottom right of the screen.
