Microsoft resumes releasing Windows 10 October Update
Microsoft has started offering the Windows 10 October Update again. It was initially released in early October, but Microsoft withdrew the update after users lost files.
According to Microsoft, all issues have now been resolved. In the past period, the company itself has conducted internal tests and looked at diagnostic data from Windows Insiders. The problem where files disappeared after installation would no longer occur.
Microsoft has been offering the Windows 10 October Update again since Tuesday, after a hiatus of more than a month. Users are advised to wait for the system itself to come up with a notification about the update. Microsoft says it will now release the update more slowly, to fewer people at the same time, so that it can better look at any problems.
Shortly after pausing the update, Microsoft said it plans to resume the rollout “within a few days.” That was over a month ago now. The lost files issue occurred with users who applied Known Folder Redirection while files were still present in the old folder.
