Microsoft replaces news service with news feed Microsoft Start
Microsoft announces a new news feed: Microsoft Start. The News Feed is coming to both PC and mobile devices and will replace Microsoft News. Microsoft Start is planned to be integrated into Windows 10 and 11.
Microsoft writes in a blog that Microsoft Start builds on Microsoft News and MSN. In any case, on mobile, Microsoft wants to replace Microsoft News with Microsoft Start. MSN will continue to exist alongside Microsoft Start for the time being.
On PC, Microsoft Start can be visited through the browser or on Windows 10 computers through the taskbar. In Windows 11, the news feed will be included in the operating system widgets. Also, the news feed is shown in Microsoft Edge, when opening a new tab.
The news feed is available immediately. For mobile, Microsoft is still referring to the Microsoft News app at the time of writing. If you update and open the app, however, you will see that the logo and new design of Microsoft Start already appears there.
Users can personalize the feed, similar to, for example, Google’s news feed on Android. By specifying location and interests to Microsoft Start, you get to see the weather, news and, for example, sports results that may be relevant to you.
