Microsoft reminds users that Office 2013 support will end in 2023
Microsoft will stop supporting Office 2013 on April 11, 2023. After this date, the Office suite will no longer receive updates. In addition, from that moment on, Microsoft no longer guarantees that the connection between Microsoft 365 via an Office 2013 client will work properly.
Microsoft announced on Tuesday that Office 2013 is no longer supported by the tech giant. The company emphasizes that this entails the necessary security risks. That’s why Microsoft recommends upgrading to Microsoft 365.
As the name suggests, Office 2013 was released in 2013 and three years later the Office package was followed by Office 2016. Microsoft is now focusing on Microsoft 365, which allows users to work completely in the cloud.
For more of its products, Microsoft has predefined a period of time during which the product will receive updates. For example, the company announced last year that all support for Internet Explorer 11 will be discontinued this summer. On Microsoft’s website, the company keeps a list when certain software is no longer supported.
