The Xbox Cloud Gaming will be made available for Xbox consoles starting Wednesday, November 17. Gamers can use the cloud gaming service on their Xbox One, Xbox Series S, or Xbox Series X. The service is part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

Microsoft announced in a blog post that Xbox Cloud Gaming is being phased out to “a subset of Xbox gamers,” and will be available to all Xbox One and Series users in the coming weeks. The service will be available in 25 different regions. Xbox Cloud Gaming is already available in the Benelux. Cloud gaming support on Xbox consoles was already tested at the end of September.

Users can play Game Pass games on their Xbox via the cloud gaming service without any installation required. This allows gamers to save storage space or try out a game before downloading it. Xbox Cloud Gaming will also allow Xbox One owners to play certain games that are currently only playable on the current-gen Xbox Series X and S. These currently include The Riftbreaker and The Medium. Microsoft Flight Simulator will also be available as a cloud version in early 2022.

Microsoft previously announced that its current consoles would receive support for Xbox Cloud Gaming. The service is already available via an Android app and as a web version for iOS devices and PCs. Windows users can use Xbox Cloud Gaming through the Xbox application. Microsoft also announced earlier this year that it is working on its own streaming device for “cloud gaming on any screen,” but it is not yet known when that device will be released. Cloud games run in Microsoft data centers, in servers that have been based on Xbox Series X hardware since this year.
