Microsoft releases Windows Phone 8.1 video editor
Microsoft has released a video editor for smartphones running version 8.1 of the Windows Phone operating system. Functions such as cropping, trimming and adding video filters are supported by the software.
The video editor is available immediately under the name Video Tuner and can be downloaded from the application store for Windows Phone. Users can download the app for free, but only devices running version 8.1 of the Windows Phone operating system are supported.
Video Tuner has most of the basic video editing features. For example, it is possible to cut videos, adjust the playback speed, and crop images. Furthermore, there is the possibility to add video filters and users can process audio in their video.
Windows Phone users with a device that runs on version 8.0 will probably receive the update for version 8.1 in the near future. Recently, Microsoft itself started rolling out an update for Lumia devices from the former Nokia that, in addition to Windows Phone 8.1, also brings some extra features to the smartphones.
