Microsoft is said to be working on a mouse and keyboard combination that differs significantly in design from the input devices the company previously released. The Wedge mouse and keyboard would have a wedge-shaped design.

Microsoft would introduce the new input devices want to coincide with that of Windows 8, at the end of October. The Microsoft Wedge Mobile keyboard is equipped with a bluetooth radio and would not only be suitable for desktops and laptops, but mainly intended for use in combination with Windows 8 tablets. The keyboard is therefore small in size, so that it can be easily carried around and equipped with Charm Bar keys instead of function keys. A cover and a stand to click a tablet into would be included.

The Wedge Mouse, in full Microsoft Wedge Touch Bluetooth Mouse, has a more distinct wedge-shaped design than the Wedge keyboard. The mouse also works with Bluetooth connections and has Microsoft’s Bluetrack sensor, which should provide accurate mouse movements. The mouse no longer has buttons or scroll wheel, but is touch sensitive. Mouse and keyboard are not yet available, but have received preliminary prices; the mouse would cost sixty to seventy euros; the keyboard eighty to ninety euros.
