Microsoft is releasing a new variant of its Surface Pro 7 tablet, aimed at businesses and educational institutions. The Surface Pro 7+ has Intel Tiger Lake processors and there is a version with 4G modem.

Microsoft supplies the Surface Pro 7+ with up to 32GB of RAM and an SSD of up to 1TB. A 4G modem is optional, but there is no 5G capability. Microsoft uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X20 LTE modem, which does not support it.

In the regular Surface Pro 7 are Ice Lake processors of the tenth generation, but in the new plus model they are replaced by Tiger Lake variants of the eleventh generation. Microsoft promises a longer battery life, up to 15 hours.

The design of the tablet is the same on the outside as that of the Surface Pro 7, but internal adjustments have been made. Not only has the hardware been updated, the SSD is now also removable, just like with the Surface Pro X and Surface Laptop 3. At the back of the tablet is a cover that covers the M.2-2230 SSD.

According to Microsoft, the Surface Pro 7+ can be ordered from 1029 euros with WiFi and from 1329 euros with 4G. The prices mentioned are presumably exclusive of VAT, because Microsoft focuses on the business market.
