Microsoft releases presentation app Sway for Windows 10
Microsoft has released its presentation app Sway for Windows 10. The app is part of office software Office. A version for Windows Phone will follow in the coming months. Sway has already been released for iOS and Android.
The Redmond-based company introduced Sway in October last year and released it as a preview, but now the final version has been released and is in the Windows Store. A variant for Windows Phone will follow in the coming months.
Sway is a service to create presentations, where the program itself chooses the layout. In Sway, users can write text and paste photos and videos; these come from various sources such as Microsoft’s own service Onedrive and Google’s video site Youtube. Users can then choose a layout themselves, but also let Sway make a choice via algorithms.
The presentation adapts its appearance to the device the user is viewing it on. This makes Sway seem like a competitor for presentation tools like Prezi. After publication, users can adjust the layout. The program allows multiple users to tinker with a presentation at the same time.
