Microsoft releases Minecraft: Education Edition November 1
Minecraft: Education Edition will be available on the Windows Store on November 1. The educational-oriented version of the game will then come with a companion app, which teachers can use to chat with students in a Minecraft world, among other things.
The full version of Minecraft: Education Edition will be available on November 1, and will cost $5 per year per user. Microsoft released the early access edition of the game in June. To date, 35,000 students and teachers have tried this version and Microsoft is calling on interested parties to try the test version for free; an offer that runs until November 1.
Compared to the early access edition, the full version has been expanded with a Classroom Mode. This is a companion app for teachers, which gives them an overview of the Minecraft world and a list of the students or students present there. In addition, there is a chat window and settings to customize the world. Furthermore, the full version contains all updates that Microsoft has now also released for the beta of Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition.
At the beginning of this year, Microsoft announced that it would release an educational version of Minecraft. The education version is intended for use in the classroom as a tool for learning a variety of subjects, from history to physics. Forty participants can work together on each server and make assignments that are drawn up by a teacher.
