Microsoft has begun testing the revamped Outlook app among Office Insiders Beta program participants. The desktop app has many similarities with the current web version of the mail client.

To be eligible for the beta version of the Outlook app, a tester must be using a paid version of the business or education variant of Office 365 or Microsoft 365, so explains Microsoft. When Build 15225.20000 or later is installed, an opt-in button will appear at the top right of the Outlook screen.

The renewed Outlook application supports, among other things, the functionalities of Microsoft Loop. Beta testers can also directly process documents and files in an email by using the @filename command, provided the intended file is in OneDrive. Finally, the new Outlook app introduces the To-Do function under the My Day tab, a redesign of the Calendar and a smart function where Outlook itself filters for important emails that still require a reply.
