Microsoft releases beta of Edge for iPad
Microsoft has released an early version of its Edge browser for the iPad. A limited group has been given access to the beta version, but it doesn’t seem like all functionality is built in yet.
The beta has not been made publicly available, but is being tested by Microsoft through the TestFlight application; software that allows developers to test early versions of their applications within a limited group. The Verge already got access to the beta version of Edge for iPad and had the opportunity to try out the software.
Initial experiences show that Microsoft has not yet integrated all functionality into the browser. For example, the split screen function, which has been incorporated in other versions of Edge, is not available. Microsoft may add this in the final version. According to The Verge, the browser also feels basic. When the final version will be released is not yet clear, as Microsoft has not yet announced a release date.
Earlier, Microsoft already came up with a variant of Edge for the iPhone; it became available to all users in November. A preview version was released about a month before the final version.
