Microsoft has released a mobile app specifically for managing resources on Azure. The Azure app is available worldwide and Microsoft says it will continue to improve the app.

Among other things, the Azure app allows users to create a personalized favorites list to view and manage key assets. The app also keeps users informed of any disruptions to Azure services and the latest updates are kept in a notification list. The Redmond company has also integrated Cloud Shell into the Azure app so that users can easily run commands and scripts.

Microsoft emphasizes that the Azure mobile app makes it possible to perform quick actions, such as restarting or shutting down virtual machines or web apps. For the security of using the app, Touch ID, Face ID and the fingerprint scanner of the mobile phone are supported; this can be enabled in the settings menu. The app is only available for Android and iOS.
