Microsoft puts first apps made with Desktop Bridge in Windows Store

The first applications created using the desktop app converter Desktop Bridge are in the Windows Store. It concerns about ten applications, including Evernote and Magix Movie Edit Pro. The applications now work via the Universal Windows Platform or UWP.

Using the Desktop App Converter, developers can convert their Win32 and .Net apps to access the UWP and Windows Store. The converted apps also have access to Live Tiles, Cortana, and notifications.

The converted apps will be available to users running the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Among the first apps to convert are, in addition to Evernote and Magix, Arduino IDE, doubleTwist, PhotoScape, Virtual Robotics Kit, Relab, SQL Pro, Voya Media, Predicted Desire, and korAccount.

The Desktop App Converter can also be downloaded from the Windows Store. Other installers have also added support for Desktop Bridge, such as InstallShield, WiX, and Advanced Installer.
