Microsoft opens pre-registration for New Xbox Experience
The Xbox 360 dashboard will receive a major update on November 19, which will go through life as the New Xbox Experience. Console owners can sign up for the beta test to test new functionality such as Avatars.
Larry Hryb, spokesperson for the Xbox division at Microsoft, light the beta test on his blog. The test is available worldwide where Xbox Live is offered and a few thousand testers are sought. According to Hryb, the chances of being accepted are therefore ‘pretty good’, but paying Live Gold members do get priority. After registration At Microsoft Connect and completing a short survey, interested Xbox owners have a chance to participate. Selected gamers will be notified within a week, according to Larry Hryb.
Earlier it was announced that the New Xbox Experience will require the necessary storage capacity. Owners of an Xbox 360 Core did not receive a hard drive or memory card with the purchase of their game console. Arcade bundle owners will lose half of their included 256MB memory card with this update. To accommodate this group of gamers, Microsoft has announced a program that allows owners of these game consoles to receive a free 512MB memory card or a discount on a 20GB hard drive.
