Microsoft has moved the address bar of its Edge browser to the bottom in the latest build of Windows 10 Mobile in response to user criticism. The address bar was at the top, but many users found it difficult to reach.

The Internet Explorer address bar has been at the bottom of the screen since Windows Phone 7.5 from 2011, something many users find pleasant, because it is an easily accessible place for those who use their device with one hand. However, in previous builds of Windows 10 Mobile, it turned out that Microsoft had moved the address bar up. After criticism from users of this change, the address bar is now back at the bottom.

The build with the serial number 10149 is now available as an update for users of the preview version of the mobile variant on Windows 10, Microsoft says. In addition to the address bar at the bottom, Microsoft has also added a toggle for a flashlight feature to the Action Center. The flashlight button is in the expanded version of the toggle from this build.

In addition, Microsoft claims that this build is faster than previous versions, while fixing the necessary issues should reduce the number of bugs and crashes. The Photos app also supports animated gifs from this build.

Windows 10 Mobile should be released later this year. The new software comes as an update to all Lumias with Windows Phone 8.1, while new devices with the operating system will also appear. It is not yet known exactly when all this will happen.
