Microsoft makes renewed Xbox interface available
Microsoft has started releasing the Xbox 2020 October Update. It adds the new interface that was already announced in August. According to Microsoft, the new interface is faster and uses 40 percent less ram.
The new interface was already available to Xbox Insiders and is now coming to all users, Microsoft reports. The custom UI was announced in August. Microsoft presented the design at the time and said it wanted to equalize the experience within all Xbox software.
Part of the new design consists of Customer Profiles. Players can personalize their own profile with themes. Themes from Xbox Game Studios are available and Microsoft has also created a number of themes with the Xbox Series X and S. More should follow later.
Microsoft is also changing account selection on Xbox consoles. If users disable automatic login, a drop-down menu will appear at startup, allowing you to choose which account to use.
Earlier, Microsoft said that the home page of the new interface loads fifty percent faster when turning on a console. Switching back to Home from a game would be 30 percent faster. The revamped Xbox interface would also use 40 percent less memory.
