Microsoft lowers Xbox One 500GB price to $249
Microsoft has introduced a price reduction for the 500GB version of the original Xbox One in the run-up to the arrival of the Xbox One S. In the US, the console now costs $249 while supplies last. Bundles are also included in the offer.
It’s the Xbox One’s third price cut in less than two months, dropping from $349 in the US at the end of May to $299, followed by a drop to $279 in mid-June. Now the price is immediately $249, Microsoft announced. It would be a temporary reduction ‘while stocks last’.
With this, Microsoft seems to be getting rid of its stocks in the run-up to the Xbox One S. That more compact new version of the console will appear on August 2 in a 2TB version for 399 euros. The 500GB and 1TB versions will follow at an unknown date, for 299 and 349 euros respectively. The Xbox One S includes a built-in power supply and can display 4K video and HDR images.
Microsoft does not announce a reduction of the Xbox One 500GB in euro prices. However, here too the price at some online stores has fallen in recent months to around 250 euros. The price cut in the US also extends to bundles such as Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Quantum Break’s Special Edition, and Name your Game bundle.
