Microsoft is working on a faster Microsoft Store for Xbox consoles
Microsoft has shown a new version of the Microsoft Store that the company says has been completely redesigned. The new Xbox digital store, according to the company, is twice as fast and should be more secure and easy to use.
The new Microsoft Store for Xbox now opens in less than two seconds and should be more responsive while browsing, loading new pages and watching trailers. The digital store has also been set up differently to make shopping faster and more ‘intuitive’. In addition, the search function has been updated with extra filters, it is easier to add games to the wish list and the shopping cart must be more organized.
Innovations to the login and rating system should also make the Store safer for children. For example, users must now be logged in to an Xbox account if they want to use the Store. That way, parents can be assured that they will not see content that they are too young for, Microsoft claims. Content that falls outside a child’s set age level will no longer be shown to the child. Parents can set exceptions for certain games, movies or TV shows.
Microsoft is bringing the Xbox Store to Xbox Insiders starting Wednesday, August 5. Throughout the fall, the updated Store will be available to more Xbox Insiders. Later, the update will come to all Xbox users.
