Microsoft Introduces Cheaper 13.5″ Surface Book 2 and Surface Laptop

Microsoft has released a configuration of its 13.5″ Surface Book 2 in the US with 128GB instead of 256GB storage. In addition, there will be a Surface Laptop with a less powerful processor. Both will be available for a lower price than existing models .

The new version of the Surface Laptop has an Intel Core m3 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. The laptop will be available in the US for $799. Until now, the cheapest model of the Surface Laptop was a version with a Core i5, 4GB and a 128GB SSD, for $999.

The 13.5 “Surface Book 2 is configurable in the US with 128 GB, where the minimum amount of SSD storage until now was 256 GB. That choice is only available with the 13.5 ” version with a Core i5. That model can only be equipped with 8GB. The price is $1,199, while the 256GB model costs $1,499.

The new configurations are not yet available in the Windows Store of the Benelux. The cheapest Surface Book 2 with a Core i5, 8GB and 256GB SSD costs 1749 euros here. The cheapest Surface Laptop with a Core i5, 4GB ram and an SSD of 128GB has a suggested retail price of 1149 euros. It is not known when the cheaper models will appear in the Benelux.
