Microsoft integrates screen mirroring Android smartphone in Windows 10
This week, Microsoft is making it possible for Insider users of Windows 10 to mirror the screen of their Android device to their PC via the Your Phone program. The test works with some Samsung smartphones.
Microsoft calls the new feature of its Your Phone app for Android “phone screen.” In addition to projecting the Android screen, the app shows a list of Android apps that the user can click to open, writes The Verge. Microsoft previously demonstrated holding a Snapchat conversation in the PC app from mobile this way.
According to Microsoft, this is an early preview and in addition to the app and the latest Windows 10 test build for Insiders, a PC with support for bluetooth low energy peripheral mode is required. According to Microsoft, the Surface Go is the first system in the Surface line to support Android screen mirroring.
In addition, the functionality only works in combination with the Galaxy S8, S8 +, S9 and S9 + from Samsung for the time being. The Your Phone app already offers the possibility to view and open photos and text messages on an Android device on the PC.
