Microsoft has sent out invitations to an event on October 6. The company reports that it concerns news about Windows 10 devices. Microsoft may be announcing a new Surface Pro tablet and smartphones with Windows 10 on that date.

Microsoft will hold the event for Windows 10 devices in New York and will set up a live stream for the announcements. It is not clear from the invitation what those announcements are. Earlier rumors spoke of the arrival of a Surface Pro 4, a new Microsoft Band wearable and the Lumia 950 and 950 XL.

Over the weekend there were still rumors that the announcement would take place on October 10, but the notorious ‘tasty’ Evleaks turned out to be wrong. The Surface Pro 4 is believed to have an Intel Skylake processor and similar form factor to the Pro 3, but with smaller screen bezels according to ZDNet. The specifications and images of the Lumia 950 and 950XL have already been published, but nothing is known about the Microsoft Band 2.0.
