Microsoft: Halo 5 not coming to PC
Microsoft has contradicted that there will be a PC version of Halo 5: Guardians, as the game will be released exclusively for the Xbox One. Earlier, one of the developers involved hinted that a PC version was likely.
Aaron Greenberg, who heads marketing for Xbox at Microsoft, made clear on Twitter that no PC version of Halo 5 is in development. He classified previous reports about a possible version for the PC as false. Halo 5 will only be out for the Xbox One, excluding other platforms, Greenberg said.
Earlier this week, it was suggested that a PC version of Halo 5 might be on the way. That’s what Frank O’Connor, lead developer of the Halo games, said on a video stream hosted on Twitch. O’Connor then pointed out that Microsoft is committed to making Windows 10 and Xbox work together, so it wouldn’t be difficult to develop a PC version for the game.
It comes as no surprise that Microsoft does not want to release a PC version, despite the previous statements. The company has also developed many of the earlier games in the Halo series not for PC, but released them exclusively for Xbox. Only the first two Halo parts were released for PC while the rest have only become available for Xbox.
