Microsoft gives Outlook.com support for Google Drive and Facebook Photos
Microsoft has added three new features to its webmail service Outlook.com. Users can grant access to Google Drive files, add photos from Facebook, and find files and images in conversations more easily.
Outlook.com users can add Google Drive by selecting Google Drive after creating a new message with attachment and then entering their account information. Then every time users add a new attachment, they can do it from their Google storage. Previously, access to the files could only be given via a shared link, now they open within Outlook.com, next to the message window. That support was already there for Box and Dropbox.
Adding a Facebook account works in a similar way to Google Drive, Microsoft reports. They can then attach their photos on the social network to email messages. The photos are arranged for attachment in the same way as on Facebook itself, with a subdivision into tagged images and own uploads.
Finally, there is an icon for attachments above every e-mail conversation. A click on this shows a list of all attachments in the message traffic, so that they are easy to find and open. Microsoft will provide the update to all Outlook.com users and Office 365 subscribers with Outlook webmail within a few weeks.
