Microsoft gives OneDrive site and Android app new features
Microsoft has given OneDrive a number of new features. For example, the Android app has been improved on a number of points, the display of photos and videos on the OneDrive website has been adjusted and content can be placed on Facebook more easily.
OneDrive offers larger thumbnails in the redesigned photo view. According to Microsoft, this is less stressful for the eye and photos are easier to find. The updated photo view now also includes videos. In addition, video playback should work correctly in more browsers and on a wider range of mobile phones.
The cloud storage service automatically generates a so-called album cover when images are placed in a folder, but from now on a OneDrive user can choose a static cover themselves. Furthermore, Microsoft says it has made it easier to share content on OneDrive on Facebook. New files can be added to grouped files, which can also be shared again.
Microsoft has also overhauled the Android app. Version 2.5 of the OneDrive app offers management features such as moving files and folders and new sorting options. Multiple files can also be selected when making a download selection. Finally, the options for sharing content have also been expanded in the Android app.
