Microsoft is giving Dropbox users 100GB of extra storage space on its own OneDrive web storage service for a year. The company has announced that. Previously, users received an extra 100GB for two years when they signed up for Bing Rewards.

To connect to a Dropbox account, users must add a Getting Started document from OneDrive to their Dropbox after logging in via the URL of the promotion. Users must also agree to receive promotional emails from Microsoft. After that, they get the bonus of 100GB. The extra storage is valid for one year. After that, the 100GB will be taken off again. Users will then no longer be able to upload new files until they delete so many files that they fall below their then-current limit.

With the move, Microsoft wants to persuade Dropbox users to switch. Dropbox’s default storage is 2GB, although users can expand that. OneDrive starts at 15GB. On Thursday, it appeared that users can get an extra 100GB for two years by signing up for Bing Rewards.
