Microsoft Flight Simulator is coming to Xbox Series X and S in Summer 2021
Microsoft Flight Simulator will be released in the summer of next year for the new next-gen consoles from Microsoft, namely the Xbox Series X and S. The game was previously released for Windows 10.
The arrival of Microsoft Flight Simulator to the Xbox Series X and S brought Microsoft out during The Game Awards. According to Microsoft, players of this console version can “expect the same level of depth as with the PC version.” Microsoft does not give an exact release date yet, but has already released a new trailer. The game will be available separately for Xbox Series X and S and will also be part of Xbox Game Pass at launch.
The various World Updates that will be released for the PC version will also be released for the Xbox Series X and S. These are updates that will give certain geographic parts of the world a graphical update, also adding several airports from those regions. Previously, World Updates were released for Japan and the US. These are free and will also be free for Xbox Series S and X. DLC bundles and other enhancements added to the PC version will also be coming to the version for the new Xbox consoles.
Microsoft also says it is working with multiple third parties to make “additional peripherals” available for the Xbox Series X and S. According to the company, this equipment should “make the simulation experience on the console even more immersive.” It is still unknown exactly what peripheral equipment is involved, but it could be, for example, joysticks and flight controllers.
