Microsoft has built a more extensive ‘do not disturb’ mode for Windows 10 within the Insider program. The functionality, which Microsoft calls Quiet Hours, allows the user to not receive notifications or other interruptions between preset times.

The new functionality is included in build number 17074 of Windows 10, and for the time being can only be used by users who participate in the Insider program and have registered for the so-called Fast Ring. With Quiet Hours, users are not bothered with notifications at times they don’t want them, or when they use their PC for a presentation, for example.

Quiet Hours is also automatically turned on when playing certain games, and after turning off the functionality it is possible to see which notifications have been missed. Incidentally, there are exceptions, so that notifications from certain people can be seen even though Quiet Hours is turned on. Currently, Windows 10 only contains a switch to turn Quiet Hours on and off, with no further options for adjustments.

Build 17074 of Windows 10 contains even more new features, including for Edge. For example, it is possible to automatically fill in credit card information and there is a custom viewer for PDF and EPUB content. In addition, Microsoft has adjusted a number of settings menus and there are improvements for handwriting. There are even more changes; Microsoft has posted a full rundown of the changes in build 17074 on its blog.
