Microsoft Expands Bing With Image Match

Microsoft has expanded its search engine Bing with the ability to search for similar images based on images. Image Match allows a user to upload an image to the search engine or enter a link to the file on the Internet.

Similar to the Search by Image feature introduced by Google in 2011, the service searches the web and displays all images that resemble the original. In the search results, the user can press a button for an overview of the different sizes of images that have been found. For example, it is possible to have Bing search for a larger version of an image that the user already had.

In the search results of the normal Image search engine, Bing will now also show an overview of the different versions in which a found image is available. The new functionality is currently being rolled out by Microsoft.
