Microsoft Edge browser gets option to share url via qr code
Microsoft Edge will be able to share URLs via a QR code. Reddit users have been spotting the feature in the Chromium version of the browser. It should appear in a stable version next month.
The option is available in the Canary version of Chrome, Reddit users say. If the option is enabled, Edge will display the text “qr code” in the url bar, and it will also be listed among the menu options. Users can then have the browser generate a QR code, which can then be scanned again with, for example, a smartphone.
The function is also in Chrome Canary, but generating the QR code does not yet work in both browsers. The feature makes it easier for users to share pages without having to forward a URL. Microsoft will release the stable version of the Chromium variant of Edge next month.
