Microsoft confirms that all of its external and internal events will not take place in physical form through July 2021. The company is replacing planned events with digital variants. Earlier it appeared that Microsoft would do that until the end of this year.

In an email to attendees of the MVP & RD Summit, scheduled for March 28 to April 2, 2021, Microsoft wrote that the event will be canceled and will apply to all events until July of that year. Part of that email was posted on Twitter.

If Microsoft cancels its events until July 2021, it also means that the company will not be attending E3 next year. It will not take place this year, but the organization has already informed partners that the fair will take place in mid-June in 2021.

At the beginning of this month it already appeared that Microsoft would cancel its events for the whole of 2020 and replace it with digital variants. It was also announced at the time that this might apply to events in part of 2021, but Microsoft did not confirm that at the time.

Microsoft organizes several major events every year, which attract tens of thousands of people. Major conferences that will not take place in physical form due to the decision are Build 2020, Ingnite 2020 and Build 2021. The company will temporarily stop the events due to the corona pandemic.
