Microsoft confirms arrival of Windows 10 21H1 as a small cumulative update
Microsoft has mentioned the arrival of Windows 10 version 21H1 on a forum. Until now, there was no official confirmation that the spring update would be coming. It looks like the new OS version is going to be a minor update.
The arrival of 21H1 is confirmed on a Microsoft forum. It is a small update that is comparable to the 20H2 update, which also brought relatively few major changes. Details about the new version of the operating system are not yet available, except that it runs on the same codebase as Windows 10 2004. That is the same codebase that 20H2 runs on. This also means that drivers do not need to be digitally signed again and the hardware requirements remain the same as the previous version.
It is the first time that Microsoft has publicly announced the arrival of 21H1. Normally, Microsoft releases a major update to Windows 10 in the spring, and a minor one in the fall. This time, however, nothing was said about the big upcoming spring update. The next fall update will probably be bigger now. Little is known about this. Windows 10 21H1 is also not yet available to beta testers in the Insider program.
