The Xbox Game Pass for PC has been called PC Game Pass since Friday. Microsoft wants to emphasize that this service is for PC. Because it had Xbox in the name, many customers thought it was for consoles, the company says.

With the name change, the logo has also been adapted, reports the PC Game Pass twitter account† A striking detail is that the Xbox logo can still be seen in this logo, in front of the text PC Game Pass. In the fun video below, the company says that when people hear ‘Xbox Game Pass’ people think of consoles and don’t understand that the service is for PC, despite the addition of ‘for PC’. Therefore, the company has changed the name of the service.

PC Game Pass is a subscription that costs ten euros per month and gives members access to a catalog of more than a hundred games. The subscription includes Microsoft games, but also, for example, EA. These games can be downloaded and played locally on a PC; so it is not a streaming subscription. The subscription is also part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, for 13 euros per month and does support cloud gaming. Microsoft announces further that Sniper Elite 5, Pigeon Simulator, Trek to Yomi, and an unannounced game from Hugecalf Studios will be coming to PC Game Pass upon release.
