Microsoft brings Bing Chat to other mobile web browsers
Microsoft will make Bing Chat available for mobile web browsers. Until now, the AI chatbot was only available on mobile devices in the Edge browser and for select users in the Bing app for Android and iOS.
Microsoft announces the rollout of Bing Chat to mobile web browsers in a blog post. The company had already made the chatbot available to some users of the desktop versions of Chrome and Safari last month. With this, Microsoft wanted to test how Bing Chat would work in third-party browsers.
“This next step allows Bing to demonstrate the value of summary answers and image generation to a broader audience,” Microsoft wrote. Since Bing Chat’s release in February, there have been more than 1 billion chats and more than 750 million images generated through the service, the company says.
It is not yet known exactly when the chatbot will become available in mobile web browsers and which browser will be the first to get Bing Chat.
