Microsoft has started testing keyboard and mouse support for the Xbox One. Insider participants of the Xbox One Preview Alpha Ring will receive support first, with broad availability following in November.

The support is part of the 1811 system update, which has appeared for the Alpha Ring of Insider users. Microsoft reports that developers have the option to integrate mouse and keyboard support into their games. Warframe is the first game for Xbox One with mouse and keyboard support. During the X018 event on November 10, the company will announce more games that will receive the integration.

The update introduces more features, such as extending the functionality of the search engine and ‘experimental features’. This latest extension is initially for a limited group and is intended to ‘generate interest’ and obtain feedback.

In September, Microsoft announced that it has partnered with Razer to develop a mouse and keyboard for the Xbox One. Earlier this year there were already rumors about tests.
