The acquisition of large parts of Nokia by Microsoft is expected to be completed in April. Originally that would be in the first quarter, but competition authorities in Asia are causing a delay, Nokia reports.

Although the European Commission and the US government have already given their approval for the acquisition, Nokia and Microsoft are still awaiting approval for the acquisition from multiple competition authorities in Asia, Nokia has announced. The company now expects the acquisition to be completed in April.

In September, Microsoft announced that it was acquiring large parts of Nokia. The phone manufacturing division will be acquired by Microsoft and the software giant will license Nokia’s business of cards and related services. The acquisition is worth approximately 5.5 billion euros.
