Microsoft acquires touchscreen manufacturer
Microsoft acquires touchscreen manufacturer Perceptive Pixel. The software giant announced this during a conference in Toronto. It is not known what amount Microsoft has paid for the touchscreen manufacturer.
During a keynote address at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto, Canada, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announced that the company has acquired touchscreen manufacturer Perceptive Pixel.
According to Ballmer, the company is a leader in multi-touch displays. The company mainly focuses on the development and production of large screens with multi-touch functionality. During the keynote, the CEO of Perceptive Pixel, Jeff Han, showed an 82-inch touchscreen. Han joins Microsoft. Perceptive Pixel has been around since 2006.
