Microsoft has acquired Talko. This company focused on developing a communication app for business teams. Microsoft will incorporate the technology into Skype and include the Talko developers in its Skype team.

Microsoft has not disclosed an acquisition amount. Talko makes it possible to have a VoIP conversation with several people and to easily share conversations with team members. The team behind Talko reports that it will gradually phase out its services and stop completely as of March 2016.

The company promises that before then, users will be able to export their conversations, including voice messages, text and photos. Microsoft will integrate the technology into Skype and Skype for Business.

Talko was founded in September 2014 and Ray Ozzie was the founder of the company. Ozzie was previously chief software architect at Microsoft, but will not return to his former employer after the Talko acquisition. Before joining Microsoft, he developed Lotus Notes.
