Microsoft 365 was out of order for more than six hours
Microsoft 365 has recovered from an hour-long outage that occurred from Monday to Tuesday. According to Microsoft, the cause was a change that had been made and that led to serious problems. By rolling it back, the Microsoft services recovered.
Due to the outage, users were unable to log in to Office.com, Outlook.com, Teams, Power Platform, and Dynamics365. Users who were already logged in could continue to use these services. On its Azure status page, Microsoft reported that some of the users of Azure Public and Azure Government could encounter authentication issues, ZDNet describes.
The cause was according to Microsoft in the event of a recently implemented, unspecified change. Microsoft implemented a rollback for this, which initially did not have the expected effect, causing Microsoft traffic within its infrastructure had to redirect. During the night, more and more users were able to access the Office 365 services again and at 06:00 in the morning the extensive outage was resolved.
