Both Micron and Western Digital presented a micro-SD memory card with a storage capacity of 1TB for the first time at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. In both cases, these are cards with the UHS-I standard and SDXC memory.

Micron and Western Digital micro SD memory cards have the same 1TB storage capacity, but different specified speeds. The SanDisk Extreme SD card has read speeds of up to 160MB/s and write speeds of up to 90MB/s, according to manufacturer Western Digital. The Micron copy has a lower maximum read speed of 100MB/s, but a slightly higher write speed of 95MB/s.

Both cards use the A2 specification, a designation coined by the SD Association to indicate that memory cards are fast enough to properly run apps stored on them.

Both micro-SD memory cards will be available from the second quarter of this year, with Western Digital specifically mentioning the month of April. This manufacturer also already gives the price: 450 dollars. Western Digital also comes with a 512GB version for $200. Micron has not yet mentioned a price for its 1TB micro-SD card.
