Developer 4AGames details the story expansions that Metro Exodus is getting. The Two Colonels will be released in the summer and Sam’s Story will be released in early 2020. The first expansion contains linear levels, the second a sandbox environment.

In the expansions, players are no longer the character Artyom. Players will see through the eyes of Colonel Khlebnikov the first expansion set in the tunnels beneath the city of Novosibirsk. In the narrow corridors, players can use flamethrowers. According to the makers, the expansion is similar to the linear narrative gameplay of the Metro games.

The second expansion, Sam’s Story, will consist of a sandbox survival environment based on Vladivostok, according to the developer. Players take on the role of US Marine Sam. From the description it can be concluded that this extension contains a large area. In this, Sam must survive and find a way out.

The expansions are part of the season pass for Metro Exodus, but will also be available for purchase separately. The cost of the individual expansions has not yet been announced. The season pass is available in the Epic Games Store for 25 euros.
