Soon Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 will probably be available for purchase again in download stores. The games were pulled from digital shelves last year. It is not yet known when the games will be available again.

Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 were pulled from sale last year because the licenses on historical footage used in the games had expired. Konami passed the licensing renewal, but that meant that the games could temporarily not be sold. The developer emphasized that the measure would be temporary and that the games would return.

It looks like the games will be available again soon. In a tweet you can read that Konami “preparing to resume sales of temporarily unavailable Metal Gear titles.” It is most likely the individual HD versions of the aforementioned Metal Gear Solid games and the Metal Gear collections that contain the games, such as the 2011 Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection.

Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 first appeared on November 13, 2001 and November 17, 2004, respectively. HD versions were subsequently released for multiple platforms.
