Meta introduces Communities feature for Messenger
Meta has introduced a new feature for Messenger: Communities. Thanks to this new feature, organizations and groups should be able to communicate with members in a simple way, without an associated Facebook page. The feature is not yet available to everyone.
Meta hasn't officially announced the feature, but confirms the news to TechCrunch. The tech website writes that, unlike the Community Chats feature, users do not need to be a member of a Facebook group or have an associated Facebook page to use the feature.
Each Community will reportedly have a homepage where administrators can leave messages. A single Community could have a maximum of 5000 members. On a Meta support page It states that the function is not yet available to everyone. It is not clear when this will be the case.
