Meta adds text chat to social VR app Horizon Worlds
Social media company Meta is in the process of adding a text chat option to its social VR app Horizon Worlds. Until now, only voice chat was possible. There will be an option to blur messages for strangers.
That option to blur messages for strangers is enabled by default for users under 18, says Meta. There will be an option to mention others with an @-mention. In principle, all messages can be read by all users in that world. Users can also block and report each other’s messages.
In addition, Meta will also automatically scan the messages for content that violates the rules. The chat function is live for a limited number of users. All users should be able to use the chat during the summer.
