Meizu will release MX4 Ubuntu smartphone in Europe on Thursday
The Meizu MX4 with Ubuntu Phone will go on sale in Europe on June 25. The device was already available in China and is now the third Ubuntu phone to officially go on sale in Europe after the BQ Aquaris E4.5 and E5.
OmgUbuntu reports this on Wednesday based on information from Meizu. The Meizu MX4 can be ordered from Thursday through the international Meizu store and goes over the digital counter for 299 euros. The Ubuntu blog reports that the method of obtaining the phone could be strange: by looking for an invitation in an ‘origami’ wall. At the time of writing, all MX4 phones appear to be sold out and there is no indication of a possible starting sale of the phone yet.
The original Android device has a 5.4″ screen with a resolution of 1920×1152 pixels. The smartphone runs on an octacore MediaTek MT6569 soc, has 2GB ram, a 20.7 megapixel camera and a 2 megapixel front camera. The internal storage is 16GB and the whole is powered by a 3100mAh battery.
